Covid Updates: India Records Over 2,000 Fresh Cases

On Friday, October 28, India reported 2,208 fresh cases of coronavirus along with 12 fresh fatalities and 3,619 people recuperating from the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the nation's overall tally of Covid-19 infections has climbed to 4,46,49,088, and the death toll has reached 5,28,999 including 12 fresh fatalities, as per the Union Health Ministry. 


Comprising 0.04 percent of the total caseload, the active caseload currently stands at 19,398, said the data. With the recovery rate standing at 98.77 percent, the total tally of recoveries in the country has climbed to 4,41,00,691, including 3,619 people recovering in the last 24 hours, as per the data. 

The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate currently stand at 1.55 percent and 1.12 percent, said the ministry. 

Delhi 

On Thursday, the national capital recorded 81 fresh cases of Covid-19 along with the positivity rate standing at 1.52 percent, as per the data shared by the city's health department. With this, the total tally of coronavirus infections in Delhi has climbed to 20,05,882 and the death toll stood at 26,508, as per the health department. 

Mumbai 

On Thursday, Mumbai logged 59 fresh Covid-19 cases along with no fresh fatality in the last 24 hours, according to a civic official. With this, the overall tally of coronavirus infections in the city has reached 11,53,642 while the death toll remains unchanged at 19,738, said the official.
