Covid Updates: India Reports Over 5,000 Fresh Cases
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said that the mask mandate can be relaxed for people except for those coming under the vulnerable groups
On Friday, India reported 5,383 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 20 fresh fatalities and 6,424 people recuperating from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the total tally of Covid-19 infections in the country has climbed to 4,45,58,425 and the death toll has reached 5,28,449, said the data.
Comprising 0.10 percent of the total cases, the active caseload currently stands at 45,281, said the data. With the recovery rate standing at 98.71 percent, the total tally of recoveries in the nation has reached 4,39,84,695, including 6,424 people recovering in the last 24 hours, as per the ministry.
The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate stand at 1.68 percent and 1.70 percent respectively, said the ministry.
As reported by PTI, on Thursday, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said that the mask mandate can be relaxed for people except for those coming under the vulnerable groups, including those with cough, and cold. In the meeting, the DDMA decided to enhance the surveillance of ILL-SARI cases for detecting any early warnings, as said by a source.
On Thursday, Maharashtra reported 550 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 3 fresh fatalities, taking the overall caseload to reach 81,17,574, and the death toll has climbed to 1,48,322, as per the State health officials.
On Thursday, Mumbai reported 98 fresh cases of coronavirus along with 2 fresh fatalities, pushing the overall caseload to 11,49,445, and the death toll has climbed to 19,728, as per a civic official.
