Farmers Protests: read to stay updated on the issue paralysing the Capital
The government allowed farmers to protest in Burari area of Delhi, on this Friday. After which the farmers have been allowed to go through all the borders. Delhi government officials arrived at Burari Maidan to review the arrangements
Agitated farmers belonging to Punjab-Haryana have been allowed to come to Delhi for protest against the new agricultural laws. Farmers will be able to continue their protests at Burari Maidan. Earlier, the Delhi Police had seeked authorization to consruct nine stadiums to accomodate the protesters. Now the government has also opened the way for talks. This has been announced by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. The Union Minister said that talks can solve things, agitation will not solve them.
The movement grew after the Farmers had been agitating for two days and wanted to go to Delhi and demonstrate but they were not allowed to do so. The government allowed farmers to protest in Burari area of Delhi, on this Friday. After which the farmers have been allowed to go through all the borders. Delhi government officials arrived at Burari Maidan to review the arrangements.
AAP MLA Raghav Chadha said that we have come to deploy water tankers for farmers if the situations goes out of hand. The AAP government stands with the farmers and their grievances. Delhi’s ruling party, led by the capital’s CM Arwind kejriwal has assured to look out for the protesters. Meanwhile, services of the Delhi Metro have been restarted after a halt of 2 days.
Barricading has been removed from the Shambhu area on the Haryana-Punjab border. Ambala SP Rajesh Kalia said that no one would be stopped. Farmers can go to Delhi with ease and barricading has been taken off from the borders. Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar has appealed to the farmers that all protestors shall directly talk with the Center for all their legitimate issues. The movement is not the means to an end- the solution will come out of the conversation.
Permission to travel to Delhi
Farmers, who have traveled to Delhi, are now at Burari Maidan in Delhi for protests. Because of the Delhi Cooch, the traffic problem in Delhi is worsening. There is an excessive checking of vehicles on the Delhi-Gurugram border. Due to which the traffic is slowing down. Agitated farmers of Punjab-Haryana have been allowed to come to Delhi against the new agricultural laws
Earlier, the Delhi Police had seeked authorisation to build nine temporary stadiums to accommodate the farmers. But instead, the AAP government refused to approve the farmers saying that they have the complete right to a non-violent movement.Farmers were being stopped at many places till Saturday. If the situation is not controlled, water splashes and tear gas shells were also release and will be released even in the future if the need be.
