An ugly father-daughter spat

Shehla Rashid Shora is a civil rights activist, pursuing Ph.D. at Jawaharlal Nehru University. She had been the vice-president of the Students' Union (JNUSU)  and was even the member of the All India Students Association (AISA). She rose in prominence while leading a student agitation calling for the release of Umar Khalid , Kanhaiya Kumar  and others who had been arrested in February 2016 for participating and organizing in anti-India rallying.

Abdul Rashid Shora, father of Shehla Rashid, a former JNU student leader, has made very strong allegations against his daughter in a letter to the Jammu and Kashmir DGP. Abdul Rashid has claimed in his letter that his life is under serious threat from his daughter.

Abdul Rashid Shora, in a letter to the Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, accused his daughter that Shehla Rashid was involved in anti-national activities.

Let us tell you that Shehla Rashid's father claimed that his daughter had borrowed three crore rupees for the Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement. He said on his daughter that she operates NGOs and those organisations should also be investigated as he suspects something fishy in its operations.

Shehla Rashid's father exposed her traitorous mentality to the country. He has even allegedly claimed that in legal documents, Shehla declares herself unemployed, so where will the money come from.

Shehla said in a tweet that “Many of you must have seen the video of my biological father, in which he is making accusations against me and my mother and sister. Simply put, he is a wife-beater and an abusive, immoral man. We have decided to take action.”

There has also been a response from the police in this case. Vijay Kumar, Kashmir IGP, said on these claims that he has sent the above mentioned letter to the SSP of Srinagar for verification.
