The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today '4 June 2020' is celebrating the coronation day 'Shivrajyabhishek' of the 17th century great Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj also known as Hindu Samrajya Diwas. Hindu Empire Day is one of the six festivities celebrated by the RSS. Apart from Hindu Empire Day, RSS (RSS) officially celebrates festivals like Makar Sankranti, Vijaya Dashami, Vars Pratipada Festival, Guru Poornima and Rakshabandhan. The RSS believes that a Hindu kingdom came into existence with the coronation of Shivaji, due to which this festival is celebrated.

According to latestly, this year Hindu Empire Day is being celebrated amidst the corona virus outbreak. To prevent the spread of this deadly virus, it has been advised to maintain social distance. In such a situation the RSS is celebrating this festival by organizing programs like talks, webinars, seminars through various digital platforms. Actually, on this date in the year 1674, the great ruler of the Maratha Empire, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, was crowned. In Maharashtra, this day is celebrated as Shivrajyabhishek Sohala, whereas in the country it is celebrated as Hindu Empire Day. According to the Sangh, it is a day to remember the efforts made by the great ruler of the Maratha Empire and the valiant warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for the entire nation.

Let us know that the rest of the festivals celebrated by the RSS are also celebrated by the common people of the country outside the branch, but Hindu Empire Day is the only festival which is not generally celebrated on a large scale in the society. The Sangh believes that in fact most people are unaware that a historical event took place on this day, which should be celebrated. The RSS started celebrating this festival because they believe that a Hindu kingdom came into existence from Shivrajyabhisheka. Shivaji himself announced on this historic day that Hindu self-government should be established. This is the will of God. Along with this, the RSS also says that if we have to proceed properly on our path, then we should remember and follow a great man like Shivaji Maharaj who created history.
