When diagnosed with Covid-19, 15 Things you can do at Home Quarantine

If you diagnosed with Covid-19 and symptoms are mild, there is no need to panic. Stay in the home isolation and monitor your symptoms and remain in contact with your healthcare for the best advise and speedy recovery.

The second wave of corona has devastated the country all over, affecting more than 3 lakhs people across country in a single day, which has become a very serious concern. Country is struggling with covid-19, due to lack of sufficient medical facilities, Therefore, government asked people to stay at home, if facing mild symptoms of covid-19. Here are some of the advices given by the experts to follow while being home quarantine to fight Covid-19. 

Most people having Covid-19 experience mild symptoms like, fever, coughing, bodyache and can recover at home.  Ones the covid-19 diagnosis confirmed, few things can be followed for at least 14 days to recover from this crisis.

15 Things you can Do to Manage Covid-19 at Home.

Self-Quarantine

The first thing you have to do is self-quarantine at home. As advised by the government authorities, wear mask that covers nose and mouth, to protect yourself and others. 

Rest

Take full and proper rest at home. A rested body speeds up the recovery process

Stay hydrated and Eat Nutrition diet

Drink plenty of water, fluids and eat food with full of nutrition, proteins and carbohydrates. It gives you strength

Disposable stuffs

Keep the disposable items for food and water

Monitor your symptoms carefully 

Monitor your symptoms, especially body temperature. For this keep thermometer with yourself to monitor the readings in every 1-2 hours

Pulse oximeter

Keep with yourself pulse oximeter, a small machine which measures SpO2 and pulse rate. In this you have to focus on oxygen level. If oxygen going below 94%, here it is important to consult the doctor. Measure ones every six hours.


Keep balloon

Keep it with you and try to blow as much as possible. The minimum requirement is atleast 10 times thrice a day.

Tissue paper

Use tissue paper, while sneezing or coughing and dispose off separately, so that no one can be in its contact.

Treat symptomatically

 Keep medicines like paracetamol, cough syrup with you and take whenever required.

Betadine Gargle-Do gargle with it every 2 hours.

Cleaning Solution/Powder

Keep sanitizer, hand wash to clean and sanitize hand properly and prepare hypochlorite solution to clean home with it.

Happy Stuffs

Keep things that makes you happy like television, mobile, books etc. At the end stress level increases the symptoms.

Avoid going outside- Do not go out on any circumstance.

When to seek medical attention.

If the person experiences any warning signs given below and needs to go hospital he can call on 911 or contact directly to the healthcare. 

  • Trouble breathing
  • Dehydration
  • Bluish lips or face
  • Losing consciousness
  • Persistent chest pain or pressure
  • Pale, grey or blue-coloured skin, lips or nail beds — depending on skin tone
  • Fever above 102 degrees

The Bottom Line

Recovery from COVID usually takes around 2 weeks in mild case and about a month for serious infection. Even if you are recovered, and virus is no longer in your body, you still need to be very careful for the next few days. It is even suggested to give emotional support and care to the recovered individual.
