Adani Enterprises in a daring step has declared a grandiose $100 billion plan to establish renewable-energy-driven, AI-enabled hyperscale data centres throughout India by 2035. The announcement (February 17, 2026) is one of the biggest promises by the Indian, privately-owned, sector to digital and clean energy infrastructure.
The $100 Billion Push is intended to develop an entirely discontinuous ecosystem that connects renewable energy production, grid stability, and high performance artificial intelligence. Adani wants to expand its current 2 GW national data centre platform (under AdaniConneX joint venture) to 5 GW and more and develop gigawatt-scale campuses in strategic locations such as Visakhapatnam, Noida, Hyderabad, and Pune. The collaboration with the international tech giants like Google (a major AI hub in Visakhapatnam) and Microsoft will speed up the implementation of capacity and technology.
Key highlights of the plan:
- Renewable Energy Integration - Clean energy will be used to power all the data centres through an expanding array of sources of clean power such as the huge 30 GW Khavda project of Adani Green Energy.
- Ecosystem Catalyst — The 100 billion dollar investment will open up another 150 billion of associated industries such as server building, higher-end electrical infrastructure, sovereign cloud and chip fabrication- possibly generating a 250 billion AI infrastructure ecosystem in India during the decade.
- Additional 55 Billion on Renewables — Adani will put in another 55 billion in renewable energy generating plants, including one of the largest battery energy storage systems in the world, to provide AI loads with 24/7 green energy power.
- Sovereign AI Focus - The project will help India to achieve its objective of technological independence, allowing local AI creation with serving the world requirements of sustainable and high capacity computing.
Gautam Adani, the Adani Group Chairman, wrote: "The Adani Group is constructing a full-fledged five-layer AI stack on the technological sovereignty of India. This is on how to make the future of intelligence power with clean, reliable energy.
The news is in line with the goal of India becoming a significant artificial intelligence (AI) destination, which mobile laws of data localisation, cheap construction, and the rapid uptake of AI in business has contributed to. It is based on the promise with other players such as Reliance, Google and Amazon to construct data centres in India.
Analysts see this as a disrupter to the digital economy of India that can produce thousands of jobs, enhance production, and increase AI investments around the world. With the world accelerating to AI hegemony, the $100 Billion Push by Adani is an indication of India being a pioneer in providing sustainable and scalable infrastructure.
