The major development is the entrance of Anthropic and OpenAI into the AI services market by creating separate companies that can assist businesses to directly deploy advanced AI models into their operations.
Anthropic proclaimed a joint venture with Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, Goldman Sachs, and others with a joint venture worth 1.5 billion. The new company will institutionalize engineers and Claude models into companies with an emphasis on mid-sized companies and core business transformation.
OpenAI is also launching The deployment company, supported by TPG, Bain Capital, and others with over 4 billion, aims to jump-start enterprise adoption of its AI tools.
The AI-native service companies likely will provide tailored, plug-and-play solutions that may bypass or replace existing IT service providers. The industry experts feel that this has a structural threat to the Indian giants such as TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, especially in the implementation of AI, pricing, and staffing models.
The move marks a new step in the AI contest, where model makers are now squarely in the high-value services market, both in India and across the world.
