Jeet Adani, the son of Gautam Adani and the director of Adani Digital Labs, gave a very bold vision of the Intelligence Century of India in a sturdy keynote at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. He cautioned that artificial intelligence will radically alter national sovereignty in the new generation, and the nation will have to design its own version instead of depending on foreign infrastructure.
According to Jeet Adani, a sovereign power relies on three vital foundations of AI dominance in India, namely:
- Energy sovereignty experts will say to us that it is intelligence sovereignty instead, but he clarified it by stating that AI consumes electricity. Green power sources are reliable and needed to power large data centers and AI loads. Sovereign systems of energy make intelligence weak. Adani also connected green energy development to the competitiveness of AI and made the green energy push in India a competitive advantage.
- Compute and Cloud Sovereignty The AI age factory is Compute. Adani highlighted that the country must develop certain domestic high-performance computing and data centers to execute some of the most critical AI programs. "We do not have to be sovereign of clouds, meaning queenly," said he, "I own, which would mean to be isolated, but to become sovereign is a matter of autonomy." This guarantees them local access and safety in startups, academia, defense, healthcare, manufacturing, and other fields without external susceptibility.
- Services Sovereignty—Incorporating one of the legacies of IT services in India, this pillar aims at implementing AI to enhance the country's productivity and resilience. The AI needs to fulfill the Indian priorities in agriculture, education, rural healthcare, logistics, finance, etc. first by making sure that the AI dividend benefits the citizens and empowers the nation.
In support of this vision, the Adani Group has made a very recent investment of $100 billion in the creation of a sovereign and AI-powered infrastructure platform that will be green. It is an initiative that will initiate a 5-gigawatt, 250-billion integrated energy-and-compute (AI) that is going to be the anchor of the AI revolution in India.
The point that Jeet Adani is bringing out is that sovereignty in AI is not fun or optional but essential in the global leadership of India. Through its possession of these pillars, India will be able to become an AI consumer, but not a subject, and reshape the industry and cement its future in the age of intelligence. The race is open—young India, will it win?
