Tata Motors has now officially started the hype around the Punch.ev facelift through new teasers published at the very beginning of February 2026, which are already suggesting massive upgrades to the car, such as a bigger battery pack, lifetime battery warranty, more power, and more range. The electric SUV will be officially introduced on February 20, 2026, and the pre-bookings should take place soon, already being a bestseller in the EV market segment in India.

In the most recent teaser by Tata.ev, there is bold text such as a promise that is actually lifetime high-voltage (HV) and lifetime confidence guaranteed, strongly implying that the facelifted Punch.ev will receive the Tata lifetime high-voltage (HV) battery guarantee, a warranty already available on larger models such as the Harrier.ev, Curvv.ev, and Nexon.ev (where available with 45 kWh battery). On the existing Punch.ev (35 kWh battery), the warranty is 8 years/1.6 lakh km, although this may change to 15 years/unlimited km for first owners (with shorter terms for second+ owners, e.g., 8-10 years/1.6-2 lakh km; conditions apply, e.g., battery health criteria).

It is a lifelong move that helps to resolve one of the significant concerns of buyers, which is the range anxiety and battery degradation over time, which might make the Punch. even more attractive to buyers purchasing an EV first in India.

Other significant clues from teasers and reports:

  • Larger battery pack: The existing 35 kWh pack has an alleged scope of 421 km (MIDC). A 45 kWh option is also rumored to be in the facelift (similar to Nexon.ev), where real-world range is expected to hit 350-400+ km and potentially even 489 km in ideal scenarios.
  • Increased power/torque: The current 120 PS/190 Nm motor is likely to be upgraded to offer improved acceleration and performance on the highway.
  • Design changes: Minor sharpening of LEDs, aero-oriented alloy, new colors (yellow, copper, etc.), and slight interior revisions (imitated in the new ICE Punch facelift).
  • Other features: Probably kept fast charging (10-80 in less than an hour on DC), new infotainment, and safety pack.

The Punch.ev facelift will be positioned to increase Tata dominance in the sub-15 lakh EV segment, competing with such models as the Citroen eC3, the MG Comet EV, and future competitors. It will be priced at a moderate premium over the existing ₹9.99-14.49 lakh prices (ex-showroom) and will be delivered after the launch.

This refresh promises Tata's EV push—providing a sense of security in battery life, increased range, and more power—and the company is a good candidate to attract urban customers who are looking to get inexpensive and hassle-free electric mobility in 2026.
