The largest Indian IT services firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has announced that, as part of its recent earnings announcement, around two-thirds of its internal resource deployments and job placements are now enabled by its internal talent marketplace that is powered by AI.
The platform applies high levels of AI suggestions to align the skills, experience, and availability of employees with project needs within the organization, significantly cutting out the human resource managerial and other traditional approaches towards staffing that rely on manual processes. This change is having an impact on several critical areas related to careers, including project assignments, promotions, and pay increases to its employees with a workforce of more than 5.84 lakh employees as of March 2026.
The executives at TCS stressed the move as a step towards becoming more efficient, faster matching, and objective decision-making in talent management. The marketplace building upon AI assists in filling some skill gaps promptly and enhances the overall corporate direction of becoming an AI-first organization.
Such growth is indicative of the increased adoption of artificial intelligence not only in client work but in the internal business operations of TCS as well, indicating a novel workforce management standard in the IT sector.
