Both Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh were confirmed to be on the judging board of “India's Got Latent” Season 2 after a furore broke out all around. YouTube/Netflix blockbuster, which is renowned for its unconventional humour and intense raw talent hunt, is also making a big change as soon as two popular, mainstream Bollywood actresses come on board.
Naysayers are also sharing their dissatisfaction on social media that the show’s hallmark unfiltered, fraught dramaturgy will be “sanitized” by the presentation of Alia and Sharvari's “refined” look. Many of the viewers who believe that the original essence exists in the show, which is the brainchild of Ranveer Allahbadia, feel it will compromise with the aim of reaching out to a larger audience, which includes the family.
You have some who are excited about the new incoming celebrities, but most believe that this is a last-ditch effort to short-circuit TRPs. The announcement has spawned some interesting internet backlash and hashtag activism, including #boycottlatent2, and #SaveIndiansGotLatent. The show will be released later this year, and there are bound to be additional guest judges in the works.
