Emraan Hashmi is gearing up for a potential career milestone with Awarapan 2, scheduled for release on August 14, 2026. The sequel to the 2007 cult film has sparked discussions about whether it can deliver the actor his first solo box office hit after a series of underwhelming solo outings over the past 14 years.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films, the action thriller co-stars Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi. Emraan reprises his role as Shivam Pandit. Advance bookings have shown promising numbers, with the film currently leading pre-sales in its clash against Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947.

Trade analysts note that a strong opening and positive word-of-mouth could finally break Emraan’s solo dry spell. The original Awarapan was a commercial disappointment but later gained cult status, especially for its music. Fans and industry watchers are keenly awaiting whether the sequel can convert nostalgia and current buzz into box office success.
