Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar has come under sharp criticism after sharing photos and videos of herself performing Sawan puja. In the posts, she is seen offering water to a Shivling inside a temple while wearing black sunglasses, a black top and blue jeans.
Many social media users called the act disrespectful, questioning why she kept the sunglasses on during the ritual. Comments ranged from “Mandir mein photoshoot?” to “Chashma utaar leti madam” and accusations that the moment looked more like a fashion shoot than genuine worship.
Bhumi captioned her post with a prayer for strength as the holy month of Sawan began. While some defended her personal choice, the majority of reactions focused on the perceived lack of reverence. The controversy has once again highlighted the fine line celebrities walk when sharing religious moments online.
