Gurugram has witnessed a large-scale demolition drive by police against illegal constructions, which saw the bulldozing of part of Bollywood actor Chandrachur Singh's house. Actor Prosad Shrestha, who has appeared in several films, including Tere Mere Sapne and Josh, was demolished by a civic body in a part of his property. Actor Prosad Shrestha, featured in several movies such as Tere Mere Sapne and Josh, had a part of his land razed by the civic council.
As reported, the demolition was an aspect of a city-wide bid to clear illegal structures and encroachments. The reports suggest that Singh's family had been given advance intimation, but now they are in a "dilemma."
Chandrachur Singh has maintained a fairly low profile throughout the last few years but still has become a household name in the Hindi film industry. The fight between the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram and property owners for illegal constructions in the area once again drew to the fore the incident.
The internet has been filled with mixed reactions, with some backing the planned growth and others being in sympathy with the actor. We are still working on the proper damage assessment to the property.
