CBFC Objections and Cuts in Karan Johar's

Karan Johar's much-awaited film "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" is set to release on July 28, 2023. Fans are eager to experience the filmmaker's unique blend of love stories and family dramas. However, before its release, the movie faced scrutiny from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), leading to several objections and cuts.

CBFC's Major Changes:

During the screening process, CBFC raised objections to specific dialogues and references in the film. Notably, the use of the word 'bra' and the mention of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee were among the main points of contention. Additionally, references to 'Lok Sabha' and a comic scene involving the portrait of Rabindranath Tagore were also edited.

Revised Dialogues and Replacements:

To comply with CBFC's requirements, the filmmakers made significant changes. The cussword 'b*******d' was replaced with 'behen di', and 'bra' was changed to 'item'. Moreover, the popular rum brand Old Monk was substituted with 'Bold Monk'. Three dialogues were entirely removed, including references to Lok Sabha, Mamata Banerjee, and a scene in a lingerie shop that was deemed 'vulgar' and disrespectful to women.
