During the lockdown, the web-space entertained a lot of people, and amongst the many web-series’ one which gained a lot of prominence from people was Crackdown. In the web-show, actor Vipin Bhardwaj’s role was appreciated a lot. Now Vipin will win hearts once again with his upcoming film Wanton. The film revolves around Vipin resorting to lots of means to hide one mistake. And juggling between his projects, Vipin removed some time to talk to Instafeed about his journey in the web-space, his experience so far, his inspiration Akshay Kumar and lot more…

And let us tell you, the young man is not just blessed with good looks, but also with immense talent which we will see in his upcoming projects…

Vipin, you played the role of an honest police officer in your web-series Crackdown. But in the film Wanton we will see you in a very different avatar, how are both these roles different from each other? And what is so special about them?

I feel lucky to get the opportunity to play both a positive as well as a negative role in a month. In Crackdown, I played a RAW officer, who can do anything for his nation. His work is his life. In Wanton, I play a rapist and a drug addict and being all of that what are the issues you have to face I portray in the web-show.

Weren’t you apprehensive about taking up the role in Wanton, what was your head-space when you took up this show?

I thought that even though I am playing a negative role in the show, there is a lot that people will get to learn from me. They will see that being addicted to a bad habit makes you go through whatnot. In order to cover one lie, you have to say 100 other lies, similarly, in order to cover one murder, you have to do many murders. In the web-series, I don't do anything on purpose, but it is because of this one habit that things happen. Seeing all this, people will get an idea about not indulging in habits like these.

If I am not wrong, Akshay Kumar is your favorite Bollywood star, what is it that makes him stand out from the rest?

What I love about him is that he is someone who does all his work on time. And when he does something he always makes sure to keep in mind that what will a child learn from his actions. He does a lot of things effortlessly and stays away from controversies. Not only does he play his roles honestly, but he even speaks his mind with the same honesty. He works on a timetable that is always balanced out. Whenever the nation needs support he is the first one to help, all these gestures of him inspire me. I saw the trailer of his Laxmmi Bomb and he looks amazing in it.

When did you decide to pursue with acting as a career?

When I was in Delhi, a friend of mine who lives in Mumbai, asked me to come down here. So I did. I started audition here just for time pass and in that I got work. My father has always taught me that if you do something, do it wholeheartedly or don’t do it at all. So, then I joined theatre for 3-4 years and also took some acting workshops because I wanted the learn the process thoroughly. When I gave an audition a year and a half ago, I realized how difficult a process this is. There are so many people who come here and struggle for years, I am lucky to find work so soon and get the opportunity to work with a big director like Apoorva Lakhia.

What were the kind of struggles you had to face in the industry as a newcomer?

The biggest struggle is that you have to manage everything all by yourself. When you go for an audition and you are told not fit, you cannot take it, lots of people come to try their luck in this industry, and in that process if you don’t get a chance you should keep working hard. Whenever I feel low or face trouble in my audition, I talk to my father.

Like we all have a special moment with a project, do you also have something like that from your new web-series?

My work in the web-series Crackdown went very smoothly, but on Wanton, we guys have worked for almost 20 hours. This was something I had never experienced. I had a shot in a hotel, when a woman came there, that time I was holding someone and she didn’t know that I was acting. So she got scared and ran away from there. Later on, the production house explained to the woman. That was a weird but good moment for me because I thought my performance was convincing for her to think I am a dangerous man.

Tell us something about your upcoming projects?

Right now I am working on a film called The Mirza, it is half completed. Sanjeev Chadha sir is a fabulous director. I will be seen playing a Haryanvi Gujjar character in my new project. I will not share too many details about it, otherwise, it will lose the charm. When I heard the script and read about it in detail, I found it to be very different. The film will be releasing soon, like Akshay Kumar sir, I too have 3-4 projects this year.

What all have you learned during the lockdown and unlock phase?

With unlock coming in force I watched our web-series that had been somewhat edited. In lockdown, I watched a lot of web-series and also a lot of world cinema. I had locked myself in a room and had gained a lot of weight too. I would watch cinema for 15 hours a day, when the lockdown ended, my parents were surprised to see my weight gained. Now I have started losing my weight, I do martial arts for 5-6 hours. Lockdown was necessary because people will now understand how they have to live with maintaining hygiene.
