Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has taken what many see as a subtle dig at Ranveer Singh over the latter’s exit from Don 3.
While speaking about the 25th anniversary of Dil Chahta Hai, Farhan recalled how Saif Ali Khan nearly left the film about a month before shooting was set to begin. He described the situation as heartbreaking and then added that such last-minute exits “seem to be a pattern nowadays.” Smiling, he clarified, “Not just with me. Aisa bhi hota hai.”
Though Farhan did not name Ranveer, the timing of the remark has sparked widespread speculation linking it to the Don 3 controversy. Ranveer reportedly walked out of the project weeks before filming was scheduled to start in late 2025, leading to disputes over compensation and involvement of industry bodies. The film’s future remains uncertain as the two sides continue to remain at odds.
