Michael Patrick, an Irish actor and writer who starred in an episode of the popular TV show HBO in season 6, in the role of a rioter, has died at the age of 35. Patrick passed away in hospice on April 8, 2026, three years following motor neuron disease (MND), an incurable, neurodegenerative disorder diagnosed in February 2023.
His wife, Naomi Sheehan posted the news on Instagram and said that he was an inspiration to anyone who ever lived a full life with his joy and abundance of spirit and infectious laughter. She further described him as a titan even as a ginger-haired man who never gave up due to his illness.
Patrick had also performed on the stage, such as in the wheelchair role of Richard III, and I appeared on television in series such as Blue Lights, This Town, and My Left Nut. The entertainment industry and fans have flooded in tributes to his footprint in honor of his talent, endurance, and dynamic character. The acting world and the audience of Game of Thrones will greatly miss him.
