On April 16, 2026, Babil Khan commemorated the death of his late father Irrfan Khan by publishing some of the few photographs at home on his Instagram account. The invisible photographs reveal a very personal scene as Irrfan, in his advanced cancer, sits on the couch and tenderly looks after the sore feet of his wife, Sutapa Sikdar.

In the pictures, Irrfan has hung his phone to his head using a cloth as a torch to ensure he has a better view, yet Sutapa reads using her feet raised up. Babil disclosed that at the best of times, the hardest moments of Irrfan and Sutapa had grown corns out of her perpetual running to see them. The veteran actor, in his turn, would carry out surgery on her corns at home himself.

The caption on Babil claimed that it was a peeling away of hardened layers of resistance against the soft skin of love. The photo has touched the hearts of people because of the silent power and caring nature of the couple even during their darkest moments. Irrfan passed away in April 2020 after a prolonged fight with neuroendocrine cancer.
