Popular comedian Kiku Sharda has finally addressed long-standing rumours about The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show. In a recent interview/podcast, Kiku revealed that approximately 70% of the show’s content is scripted, while the rest 30% is pure improvisation.
He explained that the team prepares jokes and punchlines in advance, though celebrity guests are often kept unaware to keep their reactions natural. Kiku also praised Salman Khan as one of the most unpredictable guests, saying once he starts laughing, it’s hard to control the flow.
This revelation has divided fans — some appreciate the honesty and structure behind the laughter, while others feel it takes away from the “live” comedy feel. Despite the scripting, the show remains one of India’s most-watched comedy programmes, known for its celebrity interviews, hilarious skits, and iconic characters. Kiku’s comments offer a rare peek behind the curtains of Indian television’s biggest comedy franchise.
