Bollywood fashion actress Janhvi Kapoor has told more than ever before how deeply she has been affected by losing her mother, legendary actress Sridevi, who was killed in a terrible drowning accident in Dubai in February 2018. In a podcast episode out of Figuring Out with Raj Shamani, the 28-year-old revealed the emotional strain it caused to her whole family.

Mom, Janhvi replied, died that day and I lost my father as well. She clarified that Boney Kapoor, who was very attached to Sridevi, transformed after her untimely death. The initially healthy family environment changed when her father was in a state of despair with the overwhelming tragedy of it, and Janhvi and her sister Khushi had to make their own way in the world without that emotional support.

Janhvi, at only 20 years old at the time of her demise, also talked about the loss changing her place of self-worth and how she was suddenly thrust into the pressure of the press. She said Sridevi was the good element that kept the family intact.

The emotional confession has won fans, emphasizing the protracted experience of sudden loss many years later. Janhvi still remembers her father by doing her job and appreciating the memories that preserve Sridevi in their hearts.
