The non-bailable warrant of a Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has been issued by a Moradabad court in relation to a pending cheque bounce case in an appearance case that occurred in 2017. The Additional Civil Judge (Junior Division) made the order after the actress allegedly failed to turn up despite several summons which were reported by large outlets like The Indian Express, Times of India and Hindustan Times on February 16 -17, 2026.

The case was initiated by an event organiser Pawan Kumar Verma complaint. The complaint says that on November 16, 2017, Ameesha Patel was contracted by Verma to sing at a wedding at Moradabad at an advance of ₹14.50 lakh. Although the money ( 2,00,000 Indian rupees ) was reportedly given back in cash, a cheque was later drawn ( 4,50,000 Indian rupees ) which allegedly went down. Verma came to the court in order to have legal redress in light of Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act regarding dishonour of cheques.

Although it had previously been shown (such as in anticipatory bail in 2024), in January 2026, Ameesha allegedly missed a scheduled hearing to assure her appearance before the court, and the non-bailable warrant was reissued. It is said that she has till March 27, 2026 to show up or she is likely to be arrested.

Ameesha Patel promptly reacted on the Instagram Stories, declaring the accusations false and the case very old and closed. She wrote: This is an ancient affair, which was long since settled and payment was made. The complainant is now creating untrue claims of inappropriate profits. Her advice gave her a confirmation that the dues were cleared and she intends to cause criminal charges on Verma on a charge of cheating and making false claims.

The emergence is against a backdrop of comparable high profile cheque bounce cases in Bollywood such as the one that Rajpal Yadav has been engaging in. Ameesha, a hit maker who has been recording hits such as Gadar and Gadar 2 has been keeping a low profile as of late but doing selective projects and fitness.

The warrant has elicited debates in the social media regarding procedural issues, past conflicts reoccurring, and celebrity responsibility. The team of Ameesha underlined the case that her lawyers are working on the issue in order to suppress the warrant and institute a retaliatory strike.

The actress has not been arrested as of February 17, 2026, and experts in the legal field consider that she can seek quashing or anticipatory bail in the event that it is necessary. The case describes the problem of the unresolved financial conflicts that happened many years ago and then reappear with severe outcomes.
