During the lucky day of Hanuman Jayanti, April 2, 2026, the creators of the ambitious two-part epic Ramayana by Namit Malhotra released the official teaser in which Ranbir Kapoor performs his first appearance as Lord Rama. Under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari, the massive 2-minute, 38-second preview features Ranbir with a sense of royalty and deity as Maryada Purushottam Rama.
Even in the teaser, there are short shots but impactful ones of Yash as the mighty Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. Supported by epic music by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, the film images are guaranteed an unprecedented level of cinematic magnitude.
Nitesh Tiwari was so emotional during the launch in Mumbai, and it took him seven years to get to that point. The movie is expected to be an international IMAX release where Part 1 will be released globally on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
Initial reviews are already being received, as many may refer to it as a goosebumps-inducing experience, though some have questions about the VFX. One of the largest projects of Bollywood already has gigantic expectations set by its teaser.
