It is an epic battle in progress at the 2026 box office. Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge by Ranveer Singh has already made history and has already grossed ₹1523 crore all over the world in a short span of two weeks and is on its way to ₹1000 crore net in India. It is a spy thriller directed by Aditya Dhar, which has broken several records and is one of the highest-grossing films to be filmed in the Hindi language.
Currently everybody is looking at Ramayana, the ambitious two-sequel mythological epic by Nitesh Tiwari with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. Ramayana will be released in an over-the-top Diwali 2026, complete with an enormous IMAX release and international plans, based on an insane ₹4,000 crore budget of the two sections.
Trade analysts are even hopeful that Ramayana would be the first non-sequel film to gross 1000 crore in India net, with some estimating 1600-1900 crore or above should Ramayana have a cultural connection. Its holy theme, star force, and unmatched magnitude could threaten the Dhurandhar 2, who would establish one of the largest box office wars in the history of Indian cinema. It is yet to be seen who will win!
