Bollywood mega-star Rashmika Mandanna has made history as an Indian cinema actress, making the nation's first woman vs woman underwater fight scene for her pan-Indian action thriller, Mysaa. The actress, who took the challenge of playing a very aggressive Gond tribal warrior, played through the stunt without hiring any stunt performer and a body double.
For 2 long and tiring days, Rashmika logged almost 20 hours in the water, exerting herself to the limit, in the ultimate test of her physical endurance, as she put it. She had strenuous training sessions in Bangkok with international stunt masters Andy Long and Kecha Khampakdi to help prepare for the sequence.
Mysaa, produced by Rawindra Pulle and Unformula Films through T-Series, looks to be a mix of heavy action shows, grit and raw emotion. The music will be done by Jakes Bejoy with a possible release date of October, 2026. The dedication that the actor is giving to her character following the incident is being lauded as a turning point for women in Indian cinema as action stars, and is widely expected to create ripples in the runup to its release.
