Actress Rhea Chakraborty has spoken candidly about the intense scrutiny she faced after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020. Appearing on The Traitors Season 2 hosted by Karan Johar, she explained why she preferred to play as an “Innocent” rather than a “Traitor.”
“I want to be an innocent. Iss saal hi actually mujhe clean chit mila hai, iss saal hi logon ko pata chala hai ki main innocent hoon. Bohot der tak shaq mein rahi hoon toh woh itna pasand nahi hai ab mujhe. Kaafi saal kar liya hai maine,” she said.
Rhea and her brother Showik were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a related drugs case and faced years of media and public suspicion. The CBI’s closure report earlier this year cleared her of charges in the death case. Rhea has previously spoken about suffering from PTSD due to the ordeal and the lasting impact of the public trial.
