Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has joined hands with the non-profit organisation Global Sikhs to help rehabilitate families affected by the devastating Assam floods. Together, they have pledged to build 500 houses for the displaced.
So far, 220 semi-permanent shelters have already been constructed in Nepali Khuti, one of the worst-hit villages. The project, part of a larger multi-phase relief campaign, aims to provide safe and dignified housing to those who lost their homes in the state’s worst floods in decades.
Earlier, Salman’s foundation Being Human, working with his Assam fan clubs, distributed food packets, medicines, drinking water and essential supplies. The latest housing initiative marks a significant step toward long-term recovery.
Global Sikhs has thanked the actor and his team for their support, noting that each new shelter brings hope and security to families still struggling after the disaster. The collaboration highlights ongoing celebrity-led efforts to aid Assam’s flood victims.
