Ashu Ghai is a popular science teacher and one of the most influential people on the internet who recently drew the attention of the internet and recreated one of the most remarkable scenes seen within the recently released movie Dhurandhar 2. The Jaskirat Singh Rangi character by Ranveer Singh comes into the movie with a bang, in a dramatic burst of flaming sparks.
Rather than VFX, Ashu Ghai was able to show the physics of the effect by a simple home experiment. He strapped a piece of steel (metal) mesh to a drill, placed it on fire, and rotated it on a high-speed drill. The sparkling, twirling, burning mesh led to a spectacular display of sparks, which was almost similar to the film image.
The video posted on Instagram has been widely praised and is considered fun and easy to understand in relation to science with an ode to the film. Filmgoers are claiming that it is the best combination of entertainment and learning, with several people noting that science is more entertaining than movies. Not only has the creative recreation gone viral, but it has also brought questions as to what was actually involved in big-screen magic.
