Shahid Kapoor has invited questions from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for his latest film, Cocktail 2, after being accused of giving an A certificate to the film. During an interaction with the fans, the actor shared his surprise at the spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit, asking if it would be a sequel. The actor, who has been paired with Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in the project, revealed his surprise during a fan interaction, asking whether it would be a sequel to the movie.
“There’s nothing in this film that you would object to. I know we have gotten an adult certificate; I am figuring out why. Mujhe nahi samajh mein aaya. Iss film mein teen logon ki kahani hai. The film is family-friendly and can be shown together,” Shahid added.
The fun-loving romantic drama, helmed by Homi Adajania, has been doing great at the box office even after the controversy over the rating and some scenes continued to rage on social media and elsewhere. Shahid hopes that its viewers come out of theaters with a smile on their faces, saying it is a feel-good movie in the context of relationships. He is the fifth A-rated film from him, but the actor is adamant that the material is inappropriate for the rating. CBFC did not record any major visual cuts on it.
