Actress Shivangi Joshi made a deeply emotional revelation on Netflix’s Lock Upp 2, sharing that she was molested as a child by her maternal uncle. Speaking during a confessional segment, she recalled how the man, whom the family addressed as “Mama Ji,” was highly trusted by her mother.
Joshi explained that the relative used the pretext of teaching her to drive—claiming it would help her acting career in Mumbai—to make her sit on his lap. She said she was too young to understand his intentions at the time but felt uncomfortable and eventually stopped the sessions.
The actress credited fellow contestants, including Ram Kapoor and Harshad Chopda, for giving her the courage to speak about the trauma. Her disclosure left several inmates emotional and has sparked conversations about childhood abuse and the importance of speaking out. The episode highlights the personal struggles many public figures continue to carry from their past.
