On 18 March 2026, paid previews of Dhurandhar: The Revenge by Ranveer Singh at the PVR Superplex, DLF Mall in India, Noida, there was chaos because of the student protests regarding the contrived hike in cinema ticket prices by the theater chain. The screening, which began around 5:45 pm, was cut short in the first half because of a technical glitch, which was reported. What was intended to be a brief period turned out to be hours of waiting without any evident messages from theater personnel.
Fans who had been eagerly anticipating the high-octane sequel, which was directed by Aditya Dhar, took to the streets protesting and shouting slogans to be allowed to continue with the second half. On the other hand, when the crowd became impatient, the authorities requested the police to calm the situation and avert the situation. Barricades were also placed in some sections of the mall, and finally, all shows were cancelled. Affected viewers were escorted out where refunds were promised.
The same disturbances had been noted in other cities; however, the case in Noida became especially disorderly, which pointed to mismanagement during an immense media hype on the film. Police confirmed to have only intervened in order to prevent unwarranted incidents in the much-expected release.
