Actor Vivek Sinha, who played a role as a terrorist named Zahoor Mistry in Aditya Dhar-directed movie Dhurandhar and its sequel Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, is in a huge controversy after his character's dialogue in the trailer of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, where he says, "Hindu ek darpok qaum hai" ("Hindus are a cowardly nation"). The dialogue sparked severe backlash, and people sent abusive messages and death threats to the actor, thinking he was a Pakistani. Vivek Sinha, in his latest Instagram post, defends his stand on this controversy. He says, "My name is Vivek Sinha, and I am not a terrorist." He further defends his role in the movie and says, "Should we call a terrorist from Pakistan to act in the film?" Vivek Sinha is an Indian, not a Pakistani, and originally from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, but now staying in Mumbai.
This strong performance is still making waves, with Sinha thanking the director Aditya Dhar for the role amidst the Ranveer Singh starrer buzz. The debate is still on with the question of artistic freedom versus the sensitivity of the audience in the context of Bollywood.
