Recently in an emotional interview with ABP News, the popular singer Shreya Ghoshal has confided in revealing the unexpected choice of Arijit Singh to quit playback singing in Bollywood. In January 2026, Arijit declared that he would not accept new film offers anymore, instead devoting himself to other creative activities after a thousand and one days of a glorious career.
Shreya praised the decision and mentioned that he made that decision on a very courageous basis. She had termed Arijit as a heart-of-heart musician who makes music just to be happy, not to think of its benefits. This is echoed in repeated words, as Shreya also confessed that sometimes she needs the break, referring to the strains of constant stage and show performances and the demands of the industry.
She stressed the fact that she did not feel comfortable with lip-syncing, promising to quit singing the day when she will be forced to be authentic. As fans lament about this, in these lines Shreya describes an increasingly widespread dialogue about artist burnout and the resilience to put well-being over fame. This may ignite more stars to consider their own experience in the high-stakes music industry.
