Shubhra Reveals Why She Kept 20-Year Age Gap Romance with Anurag Away from Media!

Shubhra Shetty has opened up about her long-term relationship with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and their decision to keep it away from the media spotlight. In a recent joint interview with Janice Sequeira, Shubhra revealed that despite a nearly 20-year age gap, the couple preferred a low-profile romance in the early years.

“We were trying to keep this low, but we were open. We went out with people to events and parties. I just didn’t want to be in the media,” she said. Their privacy efforts ended when a journalist, whom she called a “nosy aunty,” dug up the scoop and publicised their relationship.

Anurag, 53, and Shubhra, in her 30s, have been together for about 11 years after meeting while she worked as an assistant director at Phantom Films. The couple, now living in Bengaluru, also discussed the age difference, with Anurag admitting he once tried to distance himself due to self-consciousness. Shubhra’s parents eventually accepted the relationship after meeting him themselves.
