Sreeleela, an up-and-coming popular South Indian actress (born June 14, 2001), has officially become a graduate and acquired a graduate degree in MBBS after six years of hard medical education in addition to her hectic movie schedule.
The 24-year-old star, who came to fame with her trial roles in Telugu and Kannada films (and more recently due to viral content of the "Kissik" song in Pushpa 2), finished her MBBS at DY Patil University in Mumbai (some sources indicate affiliation with DY Patil Medical College, Pune/Mumbai). A ceremony that went viral on social media on February 10, 2026, was her convocation ceremony, where photos and videos were taken of her in graduation robes as she was smiling with pride as she was handed the degree.
The case of Sreeleela is indeed an inspiring story: she was born in Detroit, USA, in a Telugu family, with the mother being a gynecologist, and was brought up in Bengaluru. She started dancing Bharatanatyam at a young age, and she entered the field of acting in 2017 through the Telugu film Kissig. She did not break her academics, even though she rose to films very fast since she has hits in Telugu, Kannada, and some future works in Hindi opposite Kartik Aaryan.
There was a great need to balance the lengthy shooting schedules, promotions, and serious MBBS coursework (anatomy, physiology, clinical rotations, and exams). The industry insiders and fans lauded her for the fact that she was able to juggle both worlds without concession, and many termed it a win-win of acting and academia. There is so much talk in social media about how she managed to do MBBS and do movies at the same time. and genius-like, she is the brightest of millions!
This goal contributes one more dimension to her character: she is a gifted dancer-actress, but she has also become a qualified medical doctor now. As long as she is commanding the screen with her future projects, she has a medical background that can possibly lead her to socially significant roles or even potential future input in healthcare awareness.
The story of Srileeala shows that specialization and dedication are the keys to succeeding in two completely different spheres: both film and medicine. Sreeleela, congratulations!
