The singer in question responded to the uproar in a calm matter in front of her live audience at RKGIT College in Ghaziabad on April 3, 2026. She was left visibly shaken by a fan who was a male student and rushed to the stage and attempted to touch her feet. Security soon came in, and Sunanda stepped off the stage, ending the show halfway.

In an Instagram video message, Sunanda wrote about the episode, stating: Mera reaction bahut loud tha (My reaction was extremely loud). She explained that although the incident was scary and out of the blue, she does not suspect the fan of bad intentions.

Although she was not fond of admiration, she said it must be done with wrong intentions because sometimes admiration is misplaced. The student was personally forgiven by Sunanda, who asked the college management to spare the rod and not pursue the matter against him.

The incident has raised the issue of artist security and the control of people at college events.
