Sunny Deol has emerged as the highest-paid actor from Bollywood’s 1980s generation after securing a massive ₹40 crore fee for Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious two-part film Ramayana. The action star will portray Lord Hanuman and is reportedly receiving ₹20 crore for each part.
This payday surpasses the earnings of contemporaries like Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt for recent projects. While Ranbir Kapoor, playing Lord Ram, commands a higher overall fee for the epic, Deol’s package stands out among actors who rose to fame in the 80s.
The film, one of Indian cinema’s most expensive productions, also features Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Deol’s substantial remuneration highlights his enduring star power and the premium attached to iconic mythological roles in big-budget spectacles.
