In January 2015, popular South Indian actress Trisha Krishnan announced her engagement to Chennai-based businessman Varun Manian. Fans expected a wedding soon after. However, the engagement was called off within a few months.
Trisha later revealed the reason in an interview. She stated that the person she was supposed to marry asked her to stop acting. Instead of giving up films, she chose to end the engagement. “I will only take a break when I get pregnant… My wish is to act until my last breath,” she said.
In May 2015, she confirmed the separation on social media, writing that she was “Happy, single n thankful.” Reports at the time also mentioned possible family differences, but Trisha’s own words made it clear that her commitment to her acting career was non-negotiable. The decision highlighted her priority of independence and passion for cinema over marriage.
