The newly released trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has left fans wondering about one major absence — Sunny Deol’s Lord Hanuman. Despite the actor being cast in the pivotal role, he does not appear even briefly in the four-minute promotional video.
According to reports and the traditional narrative of the epic, Hanuman enters the story only after Sita’s abduction (Sita Haran). Many believe Ramayana: Part One may conclude around this point, making Hanuman’s role far more significant in the second instalment.
Sunny Deol himself recently mentioned that he had only just begun shooting for the film, further supporting speculation that his major sequences are reserved for later. Makers are also believed to be deliberately holding back his first look to create greater anticipation.
While the trailer has won praise for Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama and Yash’s Ravana, the missing Hanuman remains the biggest talking point among audiences eagerly awaiting the Diwali 2026 release.
