Jaipur: Amid a storm of criticism, the woman who went viral for pulling the hand of Sunrisers Hyderabad star Abhishek Sharma at the team hotel has spoken. Revealed to be Himshikha Tripathi, she took to Instagram to explain that she is a diehard fan and simply wanted a handshake.
She claimed that being nervous in the crowd, she pulled his hand instead. “I never had any wrong intentions. I am really apologizing if it offended anyone.… Let's stop assumptions and hate, please," she wrote.
Abhishek was making his way out of the hotel to play against the Rajasthan Royals when the incident happened. Tripathi appeared surprised and flustered before the security team took over. This video has led to heated discussion about fans and safety. While fans condemned her behavior for compromising security, Tripathi's apology has not gone down well on social media.
