Apollo Delhi surgeon Dr Anshuman Kaushal has shared the safe dosage of black coffee for fat burning without stressing the liver.
According to him, caffeine and chlorogenic acid in coffee help the liver process fats more efficiently and may reduce liver fat while improving enzyme levels. Studies suggest 2-4 cups daily can support a natural fat-cell cleanup process.
He recommends sticking to 2-3 cups of unsweetened black coffee (no sugar or cream) per day, equating to roughly 300-400 mg of caffeine — the maximum safe limit. Exceeding 3-4 cups can lead to insomnia, palpitations, acidity, migraines and other issues without boosting fat loss further.
Dr Kaushal stresses that coffee alone is not a magic solution; fat burning relies on overall metabolic health, diet and exercise. Moderation, he notes, is simply correct biochemistry rather than a restriction.
