Stubborn belly fat often stays even when the scale moves. The key is a simple, consistent routine that combines cardio, core work and strength training.
Start with 30–40 minutes of brisk walking or incline walking most days — this burns calories and improves insulin sensitivity. Add 10–15 minutes of core exercises: planks, dead bugs, bird-dogs and side planks. These strengthen deep abdominal muscles without stressing the lower back.
Twice a week, include basic strength moves such as squats, glute bridges and push-ups. Building muscle raises resting metabolism, helping the body use stored fat more efficiently.
Focus on progressive overload — gradually increase duration or difficulty — and pair the routine with adequate protein, sleep and stress management. Spot reduction is a myth; overall fat loss plus targeted muscle work is what flattens the midsection. Consistency for 4–6 weeks usually shows visible waist changes.
