According to data released on Sunday by the Union Health Ministry, India added 15,906 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the overall number of cases to 3,41,75,468, while active cases decreased to 1,72,594.

According to data updated at 8 a.m., the death toll has risen to 4,54,269, with 561 new fatalities.

For the past 30 days, the daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been below 30,000, and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for the past 119 days.

The active cases account for 0.51 percent of total infections, the lowest since March 2020, according to the ministry, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.17 percent, the highest since March 2020.

In just 24 hours, the total active number of COVID-19 instances dropped by 1,134 cases. In addition, 13,40,158 tests were conducted on Saturday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 tests completed in the country to 59,97,71,320.
