Covid Updates: 1,675 Fresh Cases in 24 Hours

The nation's daily positivity rate stands at 0.41 percent. The national capital has reported 268 fresh cases of Covid-19.

On Tuesday, May 24, India reported 1,675 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 31 fresh fatalities and 1,635 fresh recoveries in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. The nation's active caseload has declined to 14,841, the data showed. 

With 31 fresh fatalities, the death toll in the country has reached 52,44,90, said the ministry. The active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections. With 1,635 fresh recoveries in the last 24 hours, the caseload of recoveries in the nation has reached 4,26,00,737 and the recovery rate stands at 98.75 percent, the data said. 

The nation's daily positivity rate stands at 0.41 percent while the weekly positivity rate stands at 0.49 percent, the ministry said. 

Vaccination 

More than 192.52 crore vaccine doses have been administered in India under the nationwide vaccination drive. Over 13.7 lakh vaccines have been administered yesterday. 

Delhi 

In the last 24 hours, Delhi reported 268 fresh cases of coronavirus, said the city's health department. On Sunday, the national capital recorded 365 fresh Covid-19 cases. The active cases in the national capital have declined to 1,819. As per the bulletin, the city's positivity rate stands at 2.69 percent. 

Chhattisgarh 

On Monday, 9 fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported in Chhattisgarh, pushing the total tally to 11,52,338, the death toll remains unchanged at 14,034, said an official. 

Maharashtra 

On Monday, Maharashtra reported 208 fresh Covid-19 cases with zero fresh fatality for the fifth consecutive day, as per the health department. Meanwhile, the health minister of Maharashtra has said that "there is no possibility of a fourth wave".
