On Friday, India reported 2,451 fresh cases of Covid-19, which is the highest since March 18, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With 54 fresh fatalities being recorded in the last 24 hours, the death toll has climbed to 5,22,116, said the ministry. With the recent update, the overall caseload of Covid-19 in the country has reached 43,052,425.
The active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections, while the recovery rate stands at 98.76 percent, said the ministry. The nation's daily positivity rate stands at 0.53 percent and the weekly positivity rate has reached 0.43 percent, as per the ministry.
Maharashtra
With 20 fresh cases of Covid-19, the caseload in the Thane district has reached 7,08,942, said an official. With no fresh fatality being reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll in Thane remains unchanged at 11,889.
Chhattisgarh
On Thursday, Chhattisgarh registered 3 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 11,52,228, said an official. With no fresh fatality, the death toll remained unchanged at 14,034.
Delhi: Free Booster dose against Covid-19
On Thursday, the Delhi government announced to administer a precautionary dose of vaccine against Covid-19 for free. Beneficiaries aged between 18 to 59 years will be eligible for the free vaccination at all government vaccination centers.
Telangana
On Thursday, Telangana logged 17 fresh Covid-19 cases, pushing the total tally to 7,91,709, as per the state health bulletin. With 24 recoveries, the total tally of recoveries has climbed to 7,87,411, said the bulletin.
