On Tuesday, August 9, India logged 12,751 fresh Covid-19 cases and 16,412 people recovering from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry.
Comprising 0.3 percent of the total cases, the active caseload currently stands at 1,31,807. With the recovery rate standing at 98.51 percent, the total tally of recoveries in the country has climbed to 4,35,16,071 including 16,412 recoveries in the last 24 hours, said the ministry.

The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate currently stand at 3.50 percent and 4.69 percent respectively, said the data.
Delhi
On Monday, the national capital reported 2,423 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 6 fresh fatalities and 1,927 people recovering from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, as per the state health bulletin. The active caseload in the city currently stands at 7,484, said the bulletin.
Maharashtra
On Monday, Maharashtra reported 1,005 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 4 fresh fatalities and 1,044 people recovering from the deadly infection, said the state health department. With this, the overall caseload of Covid-19 infections in the state has climbed to 80,60,737 and the death toll has reached 1,48,143, said the health official.
