On Friday, August 12, India reported 16,561 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 49 fresh fatalities and 18,053 people recovering from the disease in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the overall caseload has climbed to 4,42,23,557 and the death toll has reached 5,26,928, said the data.

Comprising 0.28 percent of the total cases, the active caseload currently stands at 1,23,535, said the ministry. The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate currently stand at 5.44 percent and 4.88 percent, said the data. 

Delhi 

On Thursday, the national capital logged 2,726 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 6 fresh fatalities which are the highest in six months, as per the state health bulletin. With this, the overall caseload has climbed to 19,78,266 and the death toll has reached 26,357, said the bulletin. 

Telangana 

On Thursday, Telangana logged 612 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the overall caseload to 8,27,995, as per the State health department. 

Chhattisgarh 

On Thursday, Chhattisgarh reported 75 new coronavirus cases with the positivity rate standing at 4.47 percent, said an official. With no fresh fatality in the last 24 hours, the death toll remains unchanged at 14,085 while the overall caseload has climbed to 11,70,160, said the official.
