On Wednesday, India has reported less than 20,000 fresh Covid-19 cases for the second day in a row, logging 18,870 new cases. The cumulative number of Covid-19 infections have reached to 3,37,16,451, as per the Union Health Ministry data.
The country has logged 378 deaths due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. Now the total tally of deaths stands at 4,47,751. According to the health ministry, 32,9,58,002 people have recovered from the disease so far, out of which 26,030 recovered in the last 24 hours.
Active cases have declined to 2,82,520 which is the lowest in 194 days, as per the Union Health Ministry data. The active cases comprise 0.84% of the total infections which is the lowest since March 2020. The national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.83% which is the highest since March 2020. The daily positivity rate of positive cases stands at 1.25% less than 3% for last 30 days.
As per the recent update in the data updated by the Union Health Ministry, more than 53 lakh vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday, taking the cumulative number to 87.59 crore. With Tuesday’s vaccinations, 68% of the estimated adult population has received their first dose and 24.61% are fully vaccinated.
