On Thursday, India reported 19,893 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 53 fresh fatalities and 20,419 people recovering from the deadly infection, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the total tally of infections in the country has reached 4,40,87,037 and the death toll has climbed to 5,26,530, said the ministry.
Comprising 0.31 percent of the total cases, the active caseload has reached 1,36,478, as per the data. With the recovery rate standing at 98.50 percent, the total tally of recoveries in the country has climbed to 4,34,24,029, including 20,419 people recovering from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, said the ministry.

The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate currently stand at 4.94 percent and 4.64 percent respectively, said the ministry.
Thane
In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra's Thane district has logged 176 fresh Covid-19 cases, pushing the overall tally of infections in the region to reach 7,34,603, said an official on Thursday.
Delhi
On Wednesday, the national capital reported over 2,000 single-day fresh cases with 2,073 cases of coronavirus. 5 fresh fatalities and 1,437 recoveries have also been reported. This is the first time in six months that Delhi has reported over 2,000 fresh cases in a single day. With this, Delhi's overall caseload of infections has reached 19,60,172 and the death toll has climbed to 26,321, said the state health bulletin. The active caseload in the city currently stands at 5,637.
